News Star World Saturday October 19 1985 Twin City tournament begins at Selman ield Byron Nelson Ben Hogan and Sam Snead were becoming leg ends on the national golf scene while on a more local note the first Twin City Golf Championship was held And now 48 years later one of the best fields ever is sched uled to play this weekend at Sel man ield Golf Course ormer winners utch (1982) Glen Roscoe Jr and Pat Kelly head the field Other top contenders already entered In clude Nick Junglna Bobby Jones Bruce Southern and Selman sen champion Guy DuPriest Past winners include Louisiana state amateur champion Doug arr Henry Cole and Wayne Petty The 18 hole medal play quali fying round to determine flights may be played anytime Saturday Tee off time Sunday is scheduled for 1 pm with allflights playing 27 holes of medal play A trophy will be awarded for low medalist on Saturday and tro phies will also be awarded to the three places in each flight The entry fee is $1250 and 20 people have
