How long does the Litter-Robot 4 take to process? ›

It can be set for 3, 7, 15, 25, or 30 minutes. The default cycle delay is 7 minutes. This feature is also available in the Whisker app. You can reduce the cycle delay if it is important to minimize odor and/or the time that waste is available to other pets, such as dogs.

Empty the waste drawer when indicated by the light bar flashing blue on the control panel. How often you will need to empty the waste drawer depends on the number and size of your cats. For two average-sized cats, twice per week is typical. For a single cat, once per week is usually sufficient.

Fill the Globe through the circular opening with clumping litter until it meets the raised MAX Fill Line when spread flat—approximately 8-10 pounds (3.6-4.5 kg) by weight or 1 gallon (4L) by volume. Be careful not to overfill the Globe. The Litter-Robot litter sifting system requires clumping litter to work properly.

TP-Link Kasa lights will turn fuschia when the Litter-Robot waste drawer is full.

The Litter-Robot 4 is cleared for up to four cats, but the more cats you have, the more often you will be emptying the waste receptacle. For four cats you might actually want to try having two boxes and both can be simultaneously connected to the Whiskers app.

Litter-Robot cycles 7 minutes after each use, but if the wait time is interrupted by another cat entering, the timer will reset for another 7 minutes, which could cause waste to be present in the litter for longer than 7 minutes.

Litter-Robot 4 requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi signal and IPv4 or IPv6 addressing (5 GHz band not supported). * SmartScale™ technology to record cat weight is most accurate on a firm surface, not carpeting.

Open the filter cover and replace the carbon filter as needed. (Under normal use, 1 filter should last approximately 1 month.)

Not recommended for Litter-Robot 4: Translucent or white-colored litter (most often seen in crystal litter) may impact the litter level and Drawer Full Indicator (DFI) accuracy.

Clean the globe with Litter-Robot Cleaner Spray or Cleaner Wipes, or with water and a mild soap. There are no electronic components in the globe that can be damaged by soap and water. If the globe has become extremely dirty, it can be soaked and cleaned with a water hose.

If your Litter-Robot 4 sits on carpet thicker than 3mm(1/8 inch), you can improve the accuracy of SmartScale™ weight readings by placing our specially designed carpet tray between the unit and the floor.

Litter-Robot works well with almost any clumping or scoopable litter. Litter beads and crystals that are small enough to pass through the screen will also work. Litter-Robot is not compatible with litters that are strictly absorbent, non-clumping, loose-clumping, newspaper-based, or wood-based pellets.

In short, the Litter-Robot 4 is an upgraded version of the Litter-Robot 3 Connect, with advanced safety sensors, a more sophisticated (and quieter) sifting system and better odor control.

Press and Release: Pressing the Cycle Button starts the Litter-Robot cleaning cycle. In order to pause the cycle, press any button on the Control Panel during the Clean Cycle. Press Cycle once again to resume the cleaning cycle.

Press the Connect button to turn the WiFi ON or OFF. A long press, while at the home position, will initiate the onboarding process. Press the Cycle button to start a clean cycle. If already cycling, press Cycle to pause; press again to resume a cycle.

Power and Initial Clean Cycle

Plug the small end of the Power Supply into the socket at the back of the Base. Then plug the AC/DC adapter into a wall outlet. Locate and press the Power button. The Litter-Robot will perform an initial Clean cycle that will last about 2 ½ minutes.
